Sit With Us | Check out my Interview

Hey Guys,

Recently, I was a special guest on the podcast show "Sit With Us" hosted by Kimberly Chapman and Shauntia Triplett. If you haven't heard of this extremely entertaining show, Sit With Us is a podcast dedicated to addressing current social issues, pop culture, and any other topics that tickle their fancy.

And these ladies do just that!  They address current events and issues such as Khloe and Lamar, Black Lives Matter, Halloween and more all while having a classy yet comedic take on it. I love their chemistry and definitely look forward to what the future has for them.

Well...this week I was able to chat it up with these ladies and we discussed everything from building my brand, natural hair, my recent trip to Botswana, Africa, and much more. Check out my interview with these ladies by clicking the link below.  Share it with your friends and come back and let me know what you think.

Natural Hair | Voluminious, Soft Curls with The Mane Choice

Hey Everyone,

I've been a huge fan of The Mane Choice product line for quite some time.  I especially love their Green Tea & Carrot Deep Conditioning Mask, Doesn't Get Much "Butter" Than This, and of course the Manetabolism PLUS Hair Vitamins. Their products are designed with the health of your hair in mind and contain a lot of natural ingredients and key ingredients that help to promote and stimulate healthy hair and growth. Their products are ideal for all hair types and work for both naturals and those with relaxers.

In this video, I decided to use the shampoo and conditioner from their Give It To Me Straight Collection, as well as, the Doesn't Get Much "Butter" Than This hair butter.

  • Give It To Me Straight Moisturizing Shampoo is infused with Morrocan Argan Oil for incredible shine and frizz control and citric acid to remove build-up and restore pH balance to hair and scalp. This shampoo is safe for all hair types including color-treated hair, it lathers up easily with just a small amount, and it smells really nice and fresh.

  • Give It To Me Straight Moisturizing Conditioner also has Morrocan Argan Oil along with Panthenol to make hair softer and more elastic, and other key ingredients such a lemongrass extract to help reduce excessive shedding, aloe leaf juice for moisture, and Matricaria Chamomile to soothe and treat the scalp. It has an a lot of slip that aids in detangling. The smell of this conditioner is consist with the shampoo.

  • Doesn’t Get Much “Butter” Than This has avocado and mango along with shea butter, vegetable glycerin, coconut oil, castor oil, broccoli seed oil, carrot butter, and grapefruit and orange essential oils. This combination of ingredients helps to lock in moisture, add shine, and will aid with simulating growth.  This butter is not only great for your hair strands but has been proven to help grown back balding areas on the scalp if applied to those problem areas few times a week.

  • Hair Tools Used:
    3-4 Hair Clips
    Denman Brush
    Gold'n'Hot Blow Dryer
    Small Perm Rods

    Hairstyle Maintenance:
Pineapple the hair at night and sleep with a satin bonnet or scarf or on a satin pillowcase.  You can also re-flatwist the hair at night or put the hair into chucky twists to maintain the definition. No further product should be required, you can mist the hair with water to reactive the product already applied.

Curls for a Cause benefit event for Meechy Monroe

    Hey Everyone,

I wanted to let you all know about an upcoming event in Chicago that I will be taking a part in that is being presented by Team Natural and title sponsored by Cantu to help benefit one of our beloved blogger Meechy Monroe.

    Check out her story:

On May 31, 2014, one of the natural hair community’s most beloved and respected YouTube bloggers, Meechy Monroe, was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma (a vascular cancerous tumor) in her brain. The tumor caused Meechy to suffer multiple mild strokes, which have led to certain physical and speech challenges, including a diagnosis of Aphasia (a disturbance of the delivery of language). After a second brain surgery on July 3, 2014, Meechy is making drastic improvements with the help of physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and is currently awaiting the next phase of her treatment: radiation and chemo therapy. However, as she continues her recovery, medical bills are piling up, and Team Natural has decided to host a fundraising event to help cover the cost of her care.
