Curls for a Cause benefit event for Meechy Monroe

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to let you all know about an upcoming event in Chicago that I will be taking a part in that is being presented by Team Natural and title sponsored by Cantu to help benefit one of our beloved blogger Meechy Monroe.

On May 31, 2014, one of the natural hair community’s most beloved and respected YouTube bloggers, Meechy Monroe, was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma (a vascular cancerous tumor) in her brain. The tumor caused Meechy to suffer multiple mild strokes, which have led to certain physical and speech challenges, including a diagnosis of Aphasia (a disturbance of the delivery of language). After a second brain surgery on July 3, 2014, Meechy is making drastic improvements with the help of physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and is currently awaiting the next phase of her treatment: radiation and chemo therapy. However, as she continues her recovery, medical bills are piling up, and Team Natural has decided to host a fundraising event to help cover the cost of her care.

TeamNatural presents Shop and Style with Cantu Recap

 

Hey Everyone....a couple of weeks ago I was given the opportunity to take apart in the Shop and Style with Cantu event that was presented by Team Natural at the WalMart Super Center located in Cedar Hill, Texas.  I must say that I had an awesome time talking all things natural hair, sharing our experiences with Cantu products, and doing hair demos on a couple of natural hair beauties.  I also enjoyed mingling with the beautiful Sumetra Reed, MsVaughn, and Meechy Monroe.  They are all such sweethearts and are super friendly, you can't beat that! 

 

So many naturals and those considering going back to natural came out to the event.  DJ Phife was there playing some cool tracks and we simply had a great time for the sake of natural hair.

 

Oh...btw....This event gave us a first hand look at the new items and packaging that Cantu had just launched.  Such as their Sulfate Free Shampoo & Conditioner and their Salon Size Leave-In Conditioner with the pump!!!  Also, their skin care line which includes a body wash and body butters.  Be on the look out for these products and many more at your local WalMart, Walgreens, and Sally Beauty.
