Crochet Braids | Outre X-Pression Cuevana Twist Braid Hair

Hey Everyone,

I recently had the opportunity to team up with Outre and try out their brand new braiding hair, the X-Pression Cuevana Twist Braid and I must say this collaboration came right on time, because it's currently Fall season which is also known as Protective Styling season for us naturalistas.

I am no stranger to the Outre Company nor the X-Pression Brand, I have used their braiding hair for many of my protective hairstyles such as updos/crochet styles/Senegalese twists just to name a few.  The hair can always we found locally at a beauty supply store, its great quality,  it has never irritated my scalp like a lot of braiding hair can, and the price point is very budget friendly.

Since I have had great experiences in the past with this brand, I was super excited to try out their new X-Pression Cuevana Twist hair, which is designed to match our own natural hair texture with a softer touch.  Cuevana Twist is lightweight and tension-free, allowing for easy installation & styling, making it perfect for creating voluminous protective hairstyles from crochet braids, twists, twist outs, & so much more.

This hair is made with premium 100% Kanekalon fibers, X-Pression Cuevana Twist Braid has a natural coarse texture, with a softer touch. This means the hair is easier to work with when installing and styling the hair. I like the fact that it did curl with ease and the curls lasted much longer than expected by using hot water to lock them in.

I absolutely loved the results of my crochet braid install using the new X-Pression Cuevana Twist Braid hair and had to share them with you.

As you can see below, the hair is super long and has a natural look a feel to it.  It definitely mimics my natural hair.

Hairstyle Maintenance:
Pineapple the hair at night and sleep with a satin bonnet or scarf or on a satin pillowcase.  You can also just put on your satin bonnet or scarf to maintain the definition. No further product should be required, you can reset the hair if curls seem to lose their definition.

Side Note: When wearing a protective hairstyle, you don't want to go no longer than 6-8 weeks with the same style, and you should definitely take care of your scalp when you are taking a break from daily styling with your own hair.

  2. Wow! Your crochet braids look amazing Love the natural texture and how you styled them. While the hair itself is great, crocheting usually requires a crochet latch hook, not necessarily a keyHair Braider toolword . Would you mind sharing any tips for beginners on cornrowing their hair for crochet styles
